One of the best ways to see the Seychelles is to island hop. Ideally you'd spend a minimum of three nights in each destination allowing time to acclimatise and get the most from each island. The main islands of Mahé, La Digue and Praslin offer the ideal island hopping adventure — travel time between islands is both short (under 1 hour) and stunningly beautiful at the same time.
Arriving into Mahé's main airport you are a short shuttle ride to Carana beach. The ideal way to unwind after a long flight and ease into the Seychelles way of life. Carana Beach Hotel, with it’s 40 Chalets overlooking one of Mahe’s most dramatically picturesque beaches, has been designed to accentuate the wild nature of this unique location. There are fantastic views from every room spilling out onto striking blue seas framed by lush jungle, massive granite pillars and its white-sand beach. The menu and hospitality is wonderful with the pool, bar and restaurant situated right on the private beach. Carana Beach's location is close to many attractions too - within touching distance of Mahe's capital city Victoria and further round the north peninsula to one of Mahe's most picturesque beaches; Beau Vallon.
After a few days on Mahé it's an hours boat ride to La Digue. The views of both islands as you travel are exceptional and give you a great perspective on how island life must have evolved over the centuries. La Digue reflects this, with a more laid back rural feel. Giant tortoises and incredible granite boulders punctuate the forested landscape which covers the island. Domaine de L'Orangerie is the only resort on the Island and with it's towering hillside villas framed by the giant palms and garden villas they offer a wonderfully embracing experience. Many visitor choose to see the island by bike - with it's gentle rolling roads that traverse the island one of which leads to Grand Anse beach - which is exceptional even by Seychelles standards.
To finish the trip we recommend taking the short boat ride from La Digue to Praslin and on to Raffles Seychelles. Raffles' concierge team will pick you up from the dock and deliver you to a resort paradise which rivals any on the planet. A true 5 star resort with incredible choice of villas, that dot the hillside and lead down to a stunning private beach, bar and huge pool.
