Mozambique offers beautiful, tropical beach holidays with great weather year round. The southern parts of the country are generally dryer and less tropical than the north. The best time to visit depends largely on what you want to do during your stay in Mozambique. The coast is best visited May-Oct, as it is dry and cooler than any other time of the year. Nov-Dec is best avoided for coastal visits as it is hot, humid and rainy with the beach resorts packed with local holiday makers. Nov- Apr is perfect for birders; however the weather conditions are hot and humid, and there is a risk of the roads being flooded and unusable. The best time to visit for those wishing to see the Green or Hawksbill turtles nesting on Vamizi Island would be Feb-May, although they do nest year round in this location.
WINTER Apr - Sept: Generally best for beach holidays.
SUMMER Oct - Mar: Best fishing during these summer months.
Rainy season Dec - Mar: Despite a big range of latitudes, the whole country broadly follows a southern African weather pattern. This does vary a little between the north and south of the country, with the rains starting a few weeks earlier in the north. Humidity can be uncomfortably high during this period. Overall though, annual rainfall is relatively low compared to other African countries.
Good time to travel for a more exclusive experience due to fewer tourists.
Dry season Jun - Oct: Often perfect tropical weather with clear skies, plenty of sun and almost
no rain. Best time for game viewing.
